This virtual museum will show you snails and slugs not only on paintings,drawings and prints,but also on gravestones and mosaics. The earliest art dates back to circa 4 AD and shows snails in a mosaic. Sometimes snails play a leading role in a painting or a drawing while in other art they are merely supporting actors.There is a separate section of natural history prints most of them 19th century quality pieces.
