Helicodonta obvoluta(Müller,1774) Shell is thick,disc-shaped and dark reddish brown,the lip whitish,young shells are covered in hairs, 11-15 mm wide x 5-7 high mm.There are 5-6 whorls,the aperture is oblique and trilobate.The umbilicus is wide and deep. Animal dark-grey. In warm sheltered woods in hills,likes a chalky soil. Widely spread in Europe. photo:Helmut Nisters
